The Korea Human Rights Foundation was initiated to succeed the projects and the sprit of the Committee for Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in Korea . In 1998 the Committee was launched, and its purpose was greatly accomplished by the corporation of various individuals and groups that had tried to protect or promote human rights. After the success of the Commemoration, the Committee institutionalized and enhanced its projects and activities. Finally in 2000, the Committee was reborn with the form of Foundation; the Korea Human Rights Foundation.
The main projects that the Korea Human Rights Foundation progresses are Hosting Human Rights Conferences , Supporting Human Rights Activists, Academics, and Organizations, Publishing Human Rights Publications, and Constructing Human Rights Infrastructure in Korea . The Korea Human Rights Foundation plans to extend its scope by initiating the programs, Supporting Human Rights Scholarship or Fellowship , Promoting Human Rights Education , and Networking with International Human Rights Foundations and Organizations .
The level of promotion and protection of Human Rights in Korea society can be attributed to the dedication of individuals and organizations that would like to share their interests and financial supports for human rights. The Korea Human Rights Foundation would like to encourage these people and groups to join our vision to realize the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
