The program offers a two-year curriculum involving a total of 120 credits. This program has a unique character. It is carefully designed and belongs to the very popular educational area of financial engineering. Focusing on quantitative computer-based methods of financial analysis, the program will provide an advanced base in Mathematics and Economics. The program is oriented towards financial real life problems and the textbooks have been chosen to support this approach. Advanced financial software is systematically used in the teaching. The best students are also involved in research activities and development of experimental financial software. The program is a natural continuation for the Bachelor program Analytical Finance. Mälardalen University also offers a special preparatory spring semester (30 credits) for this Master program.
FUTURE
As a graduate of Financial Engineering you will have very competitive advanced qualifications for obtaining a senior position in a bank, stock exchange, investment company, insurance or financial software company, government or other financial institution or manufacturing company. The best students also have possibility to continue their education at Ph.D. level at Mälardalen University or at another high quality teaching institution or university all over the world.
