Qualifications (must satisfy all the following conditions):
Self-supporting international students enrolled or have been accepted to be enrolled in the university, with excellent academic record and character, in need of financial assistance, and belong to one of the following (1) (3):
* Those already receiving a scholarship amount of more than 30,000 Yen are not eligible to apply.
Graduate students whose research area is international development assistance or international cooperation.
Those enrolled in “Special Course for advancement of Agricultural and Life Sciences”at the graduate school of agricultural & Life Sciences, the University of Tokyo.
Short-term international students (Those enrolled in a university abroad and studying for about a year in a Japanese university, whose faculty or graduate school has an international agreement with our graduate school or the University of Tokyo)
*Recipients of the foundation scholarship of the preceding year (except for short-term international students) are eligible to re-apply. However, the scholarship grant period will be two years.
Scholarship amount per month: 100,000 Yen
Number: 10 for Fall 2008, 10 for Spring 2009
Scholarship grant period: Within One year, Fall 2008 (from October 2008), Spring 2009(from April 2009)
Deadline: Apply until August 6, 2008 (Wed) to the International Student Office in the Students Center. |
