Fondation EDF Diversiterre offers research grants on subjects related to electricity to students enrolled in European universities. Most grants are made to students in the humanities and social sciences. Grants range from €1,250 to €2,500 per year.
Program description
Eléctricité de France is the largest producer and distributor of electricity in France. Fondation EDF Diversiterre was founded in 2007 as a corporate foundation, capping two decades of giving by the Groupe EDF under the aegis of the Fondation de France. The objective of Fondation EDF Diversiterre is to support efforts to promote the common good, social cohesion, and the preservation of our planet.
Every year, the foundation’s committee on the history of electricity awards study grants to European students to encourage academic research on the subject of electricity. Although historical perspectives have priority, the foundation has supported work in other disciplines—among them geography, sociology, economics, communication, management, and library science.
