The Institute of Food & Resource Economics, Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Copenhagen wishes to appoint a Ph.D. fellow in food law for a period of three years starting from 1 September 2009 or as soon as possible.
Job description:
With reference to the project manager (main supervisor), the work of the Ph.D. fellow will consist mainly of duties in connection with research and development within the area of food law.
The project shall focus on a general or more specific food law topic, e.g. labelling and information requirements, food safety and hygiene requirements, product standards etc. The project must have a clear EU and/or international dimension, but might include aspects of national implementation as well.
The appointee should have qualifications within one or more of the following areas:
• EU law
• International law
• Trade law and/or related aspects
• Public law
• Food law or related issues
The position will be co-supervised by Professor Bernd van der Meulen, Wageningen University, The Netherlands and a research stay in Wageningen must be expected.
Qualification requirements In connection with the appointment to the post special importance will be attached to the applicant having the professional and personal qualifications stated below:
• Passed Master’s degree in law or another relevant Master degree.
• Good language skills in English
