The CRC for Asthma and Airways is keen to foster PhD programs within the CRC to attract students of the highest calibre and to provide them with additional support during their study. Students will have the opportunity to collaborate with other CRC researchers, and participate in exchange programs with the pharmaceutical industry and other CRC for Asthma and Airways partners.
Funds have been allocated to provide financial assistance, in the form of supplementary scholarships, to PhD students. The Education Committee of the CRC will award a number of these scholarships to students who are working on CRC projects and have preferably been awarded a PhD scholarship from another source.
Scholarships will provide a sum up to $7,500 per annum. This includes an allocation of $2,500 for conference and travel assistance for which students may apply.
The following conditions will apply:
Students must be working on a CRC research project.
Applications for scholarships will be evaluated by a subcommittee of the CRC Education Committee, and will be ranked according to their merit. Both new and current PhD students will be considered for scholarships.
Preference will be given to students who have already obtained a competitive scholarship from another source e.g. APA, NHMRC, University, Asthma Foundation scholarship etc.
Students who are successful in obtaining a scholarship will be required to provide an annual report to the Education Committee.
Students will be required to acknowledge the support of the CRC in any abstracts, conference presentations or publications that arise from their research.
Students must abide by the CRC’s confidentiality policies. This would include signing the appropriate confidentiality and intellectual property agreements. |
